Ο πρώτος Εθνικός Κλιματικός Νόμος, που κατατέθηκε εντός της εβδομάδας στη Βουλή, διαμορφώνει με τις διατάξεις του το απαραίτητο θεσμικό πλαίσιο για τη σταδιακή μείωση των εκπομπών αερίων του θερμοκηπίου, αποσκοπώντας στην επίτευξη των εθνικών κλιματικών στόχων για το 2030 και τη μετάβαση σε καθεστώς κλιματικής ουδετερότητας έως το 2050.  Σύμφωνα με σχετικό ενημερωτικό σημείωμα του ΥΠΕΝ, οι βασικές προβλέψεις του σχεδίου νόμου, χωρισμένες σε μερικούς από τους κρισιμότερους τομείς για την επιτυχία της ενεργειακής μετάβασης, είναι: Απολιγνιτοποίηση Προβλέπεται η διακοπή λειτουργίας όλων των λιγνιτικών μονάδων το αργότερο έως τις 31 Δεκεμβρίου 2028 υπό την προϋπόθεση διασφάλισης της επάρκειας ισχύος και της ασφάλειας εφοδιασμού.  Ηλεκτροκίνηση Από το 2024 το 1/4 των νέων εταιρικών αυτοκινήτων ιδιωτικής χρήσης που ταξινομούνται, θα πρέπει να είναι αμιγώς ηλεκτρικά ή υβριδικά ηλεκτρικά οχήματα. Από το 2026 όλα τα νέα ταξί σε Αθήνα και Θεσσαλονίκη θα πρέπει να είναι ηλεκτροκίνητα.  Από το 20

Το μέλλον της ενέργειας κρίνεται δυσοίωνο καθώς η εξάντληση των φυσικών πόρων σε συνδυασμό με το μονοπώλιο που διαθέτουν κάποιες χώρες στην κατοχή επαρκών φυσικών πόρων για την παραγωγή και εξαγωγή ενέργειας κάνουν πιο δύσκολη την εύρεση της ‘’χρυσής τομής’’. Throughout this book, the major sectors of human activity that contribute to climate change are addressed individually. These sectors are power generation, production of construction materials, agriculture/livestock farming, transportation, and heating/cooling.
